3 Science-Backed Ingredients for Happy Hormones

Diet is so important when it comes to happy hormones. The energy and nutrients you get from food help to produce hormones, protect your cells and provide energy. Many factors contribute to hormonal imbalances such as food allergies, obesity, inflammation, poor sleep and digestive issues.

In addition to your general diet and lifestyle, there are certain nutrients and herbs that may be beneficial to take in a vitamin, which have been shown by research to have supportive effects on hormones. We have included some of these powerful ingredients in our Hormone + PMS Support formula to provide that extra bit of love to your hormones.

Here we take a look at three of our favourite science-backed ingredients for healthy, happy hormones, periods and PMS.

Chaste Tree (Vitex Agnus-Castus)

This herb helps to support our reproductive hormones such as those that are involved in fertility and menstrual cycles. It has also been shown to play a role in the regularity of menstrual cycles and balancing PMS symptoms - think mood swings, anxiety, irritability and bloating.

Dong Quai (Angelica Polymorpha)

Dong Quai helps to relieve irregular periods and other menopausal symptoms! This herb is commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine to promote blood circulation and treat menstrual conditions like dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps) and other women’s health issues.

Vitamin B3 and B6

The beloved Bs! We love these as they not only help with energy production, but also help support the function of our nervous system, keeping us calm and relaxed. We cannot stress the importance of this in supporting hormonal function. When we’re stressed, our bodies just know! The body goes into a state of panic and disrupts the usual functioning of our hormones.
