Maple Cinnamon Apples
Craving something warm, sweet and nourishing in minutes? These sautéed maple cinnamon apples are the answer! Lightly caramelised apple slices bring natural sweetness, fibre for digestion and a dose of antioxidants — all in a quick and comforting dish. Enjoy it for breakfast with creamy yoghurt, or as a wholesome dessert with a sprinkle of nuts for crunch and a boost of healthful fats. Perfection.
Ingredients:
- 1 apple, sliced into thin wedges
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 sprigs thyme, leaves picked
To serve:
- 1 cup Greek yoghurt, or coconut yoghurt for dairy-free
Method:
Heat the coconut oil in a non-stick frying pan over a medium heat. Add the apple slices and sauté for 1 minute whilst stirring to coat evenly in the oil.
Add the vanilla, maple, cinnamon and thyme leaves and stir to coat the apples. Sauté for 3-4 minutes or until golden and caramelised.
Serve with yoghurt of choice.
